This program offers a unique and wonderful opportunity for families like ours, who do not speak Chinese, but would like to offer our children a chance to learn this very important language.

Happy Clients

Susan and I are pleased to offer this letter of recommendation for Margaret Zhang and Little Genius Montessori School. Margaret demonstrated her dedication to becoming the best Montessori teacher possible. She is very creative, deeply conscientious, professional, and hard-working. She provides abundant love, care, attention, and patience to all of the children attending the school. David consistently looks forward to attending school.

He is engaged, eager, productive, and is making marvelous progress. At the age of four, some of his more impressive accomplishments include a familiarity with world geography, the ability to count to 100 or more, some fundamental mathematical skills (addition and subtraction), letter/number recognition, early handwriting skills, and a budding ability to recognize and spell words. Many of these accomplishments are the direct result of the Little Genius Montessori School and Margaret’s influence and instruction. In addition to providing a wonderful learning environment, Little Genius Montessori School is a full Chinese Immersion Montessori program; perhaps the only such program in this region (I am aware of no other). Margaret and Joe have taught David fluent Mandarin Chinese. Their teaching is so through that others often remark that David speaks like a native, despite the fact that neither Susan nor I speak Chinese. We feel truly lucky to have found Margaret and the Little Genius Montessori School. They offer a remarkably quality program.

My son has attended the school for more than a year. This program offers a unique and wonderful opportunity for families like ours, who do not speak Chinese, but would like to offer our children a chance to learn this very important language. In my experience with language schools (my children have attended both Spanish and French schools as well), full immersion is by far the best teaching method for pre-school age children. Ms. Zhang’s approach is well thought out and comprehensive and offers the children instruction in both spoken and written Chinese language. As an added benefit, she and her husband are accomplished musicians and offer the children weekly music lessons as well. My son has benefited immensely from this exposure to Chinese. I am immeasurably grateful to Ms. Zhang that my son has this opportunity.

We are writing this letter in support of the Chinese Immersion Montessori Program at Little Genius Montessori School. My son has been attending this school for over 2 years and we have been very happy with his progress at school. The owners of the school Margaret and Joe have been wonderful teachers to the children. As parents with a Chinese heritage, we really wanted our son to have exposure to the Chinese culture and language. We were thrilled to be able to find a licensed pre-school program that offered Chinese immersion. We feel that compared to other Chinese American children, he has had much more exposure to his Chinese heritage. In addition to the Chinese immersion, there is also a focus on music and poetry because of Margaret and Joe’s extensive background in music. This past February, the children put on a performance reciting Chinese poetry as well as Chinese nursery rhymes.

Our son Devan Wasserman has been attending Little Genius Montessori School for over 2 years. We found Margaret through our next door neighbor and I can’t begin to tell you how pleased we are with the school. When we were in the process of looking for schools, we were a little nervous because he was in speech therapy and we wanted an environment to reinforce that. 3 months after attending Little Genius Montessori School we found that he no longer needed the speech therapy and he was picking up Chinese at a rapid rate. Margaret and Joey were able to make Devan feel comfortable very soon after entry. He looks forward to school every day and talks about the two of them very frequently. Devan has a strong interest in music and instruments. He thoroughly enjoys Margaret and Joey’s artistic talent and we love how it is incorporated into the classroom. We feel Devan has benefited immensely from learning another language and being exposed to a musical environment. These are two subjects that have been extremely important to us as parents. We are thankful to be able to rely on Margaret and Joey to provide our son with an ongoing learning and cultural experience.

The Montessori environment has also helped Devan excel in finding confidence for once a very shy child. Having a well-structured day along with loving teachers that genuinely care about your child leaves us with a very reassuring feeling when we drive away to start our day.

Overall we could not be more pleased with Devan’s experience and would recommend Little Genius Montessori School to any parent.

We want to thank you and Joe for your dedication to early childhood education and the Chinese culture. As Asian parents, one of our greatest wish is to see our children growing up retaining some part of their Asian heritage. You and your school has made this possible for us. Both of our boys have spent many years at your center before moving on to kindergarten. During their time there, I have seen how your emphasis on self learning and Chinese have provided a strong foundation for their schooling in later years. Evan has been doing very well in his Chinese classes and Ethan is far more advanced academically than his expected years. We really like your Montessori curriculum with music and Chinese emphasis as well as your integration of the outdoor such as having the children grow their own vegetables. We are truly thankful that our boys were able to attend LGMC and will strongly recommend your school to any parents without hesitation

My daughter, Sara, attended this school from 2009-2010. The staff was always professional and my daughter has a wonderful education. We plan to send our other daughter to the school when she is a little older (if there is available space). …. There are very few schools in this area that offer what this school does: Chinese Immersion and Montessori in a beautiful quiet setting.

We have been very fortunate to find this school for our four-year-old daughter who enrolled this fall after moving from California. Although we have always hoped to teach our children the Chinese language, it was difficult to find a great school with Chinese immersion, which also follows a Montessori curriculum. We wish there was a similar program fro our seven-year-old son so that he could benefit from the exceptional learning opportunities that his sister has experienced.

After visiting the center, you can easily notice that the director, Mrs. Margaret Zhang, puts extensive thought and careful planning into every aspect of the center. The long wait list also speaks for itself regarding the success of this program. We are delighted that in two months, our daughter speaks fluently and sings in Chinese and recognizes many complicate Chinese characters. She enjoys learning music and math and is overall more confident. Both teachers are extremely patient with the children. They teach children to be independent, self-motivated and confident which provides them the tools needed to succeed in their future.
