What is Montessori?

The Montessori Method was originally developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Instead of using a typical classroom structure with a teacher lecturing students, Montessori students are allowed to learn eagerly, and independently in a carefully prepared classroom environment. Children are naturally excited to learn and the Montessori method is an excellent way for them to develop in a holistic manner through incorporating cognitive, social, emotional, as well as physical growth into one congruous educational experience.

Is Montessori better than normal daycare?

We wholeheartedly believe that a Montessori education can help educate your child better than a typical daycare. In our Montessori classroom, children are able to practice not only practical life skills, but also receive education in music, science, mathematics and the Chinese+English language.
However, Montessori is not a one-size-fits-all experience! That is why we also offer a Toddler class (18mo - 3y/o) so children can be better eased into Montessori from a young age.

where are you located?

We are located right off exit 6B of I-270 and Rt. 28 (Darnestown road). We chose this location because not only is it in an excellent neighborhood (with schools feeding into Wootton High School), it is also very accessible because of its proximity to major roads.

what kind of scheduling options are available?

We are flexible! If you cannot send your child to attend school all 5 weekdays, we will do our best to work with you to create a schedule that best accommodates you. However, we do believe that regular attendance is most conducive to a quality education and social skill development. Don't hesitate to reach out if you want to ask further questions!

What is your favorite part about teaching?

We believe that one of the most important things one can do is to invest in our future, our children. With the steady increase in demand for Chinese language education, it is now more important than ever for children to receive a multicultural educational experience. That is why we started Little Genius 10 years ago, with the intent of doing our best to give ours, and your children the best possible education they can receive.
